John,

The Virginia Constitution is supposed to restrain power — not bend to it.
In 2020, Virginians amended our Constitution to create an independent redistricting commission. Sixty-five percent voted to stop politicians from drawing their own congressional maps.

That wasn’t ambiguous.

Now, mid-decade, Democratic leaders want to amend the Constitution again — temporarily suspending that framework so they can redraw congressional districts ahead of 2026.

Even if labeled “temporary,” it sidelines the independent commission voters demanded.

If politicians can reclaim that authority whenever it’s convenient, the commission was never truly independent.

Today it’s congressional maps. Tomorrow it could be any constitutional safeguard that stands in the way of partisan power.

The Constitution is not a political strategy memo.

You don’t weaken constitutional guardrails because you don’t like the scoreboard.

I’m fighting to protect the integrity of Virginia’s system — but I need your help.

Donate today to help us defend the will of Virginia voters.

Respect for the Constitution shouldn’t depend on who holds the gavel.
