John– It’s been a heavy few weeks for many of us. As I’ve watched senseless violence happening in communities across the country, I can’t help but think of the caregivers and families who are living with fear and uncertainty.
Now, we’ve learned that this administration has been targeting people using Medicaid data – effectively turning our need for care into a weapon to use against immigrant families. We can’t let this continue.
Take action: Tell Congress to protect our care and the families who depend on it. [[link removed]]
Last year, Congress cut more than one trillion dollars from Medicaid, Medicare, and the Affordable Care Act – taking away critical care from older adults, disabled people, family caregivers, and care workers while using those cuts to pay for ICE and tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthyand big corporations.
To make matters worse, ICE is using people’s personal Medicaid data to go after immigrant families. This forces families to make the impossible choice between accessing care and protecting their loved ones. No family should have to fear for the safety of their loved ones to access the care that they need.
We’re sending a loud message to Congress: We should be able to depend on our care programs to serve and protect us, and our personal data. We need you with us, John. Can you take a few minutes to send a message to Congress?

Through it all, I’m thinking about the helpers: the people who are showing up in times of crisis to care for their neighbors and communities. These are the very people who embody the very spirit of care, and they’re often caregivers and care recipients themselves. We need more helpers – more care – not less.
Thank you, John, for being one of those helpers.
With care,
Nicole Jorwic, Chief Program Officer
