Another Student Victory in Clinical Placement Advocacy
Different Scenario, but the Same Commitment to Faith and Freedom!

Another Student Victory in Clinical Placement Advocacy
A Different Story. The Same Commitment to Faith and Freedom.
Over the past few days, A Voice for Choice Advocacy has shared two powerful examples of how AVFCA helped students protect their religious beliefs and remain in their clinical rotations. Today, we are sharing a third story that looks very different on the surface, but reveals the same underlying pattern.
This time, the student was a dental student at a Dental program in Arizona, preparing for clinical rotations. And once again, she was told that vaccination requirements could determine whether she would be allowed to continue.
As Brianna prepared for her rotations, she was asked to submit updated titers and immunization records and was informed that failure to meet certain requirements could limit her placement options. She was also told that if her religious exemption were denied, she would be required to vaccinate within a short timeframe.
Like many students in this position, Brianna faced unclear policies, shifting expectations, and intense pressure to simply comply. Rather than giving in to that pressure, Brianna reached out to AVFCA. From the beginning, it was clear that Brianna’s religious beliefs were deeply rooted. As a Jewish woman, her faith, prayer practices, and relationship with God were central to her life, and she wanted her exemption to reflect that truth clearly and authentically.
Brianna did not submit a rushed or generic statement. Instead, she worked with AVFCA to develop a thoughtful, well-supported exemption that explained her sincere religious beliefs, referenced scripture, addressed anticipated objections, and demonstrated the sincerity of her faith. AVFCA also coached her on how to communicate with administrators, how to keep key discussions in writing, and how to request policies and expectations clearly.
Together, we built a strong, legally grounded submission. Brianna sent her final exemption exactly as advised and shortly afterward, she received the news she had been hoping for - her religious exemption was approved. She is now able to continue toward her clinical rotations without compromising her beliefs and without derailing her professional path.
This case highlights something AVFCA sees again and again. Students are not denied because their beliefs are invalid. They are denied because they are not given accurate guidance on how to present and protect those beliefs. Without experienced support, many students submit weak or incomplete exemptions, misunderstand their rights, or feel intimidated into compliance.
AVFCA is the only organization that has demonstrated consistent success helping students secure clinical placements and rotations based on sincerely held religious exemptions. Our work is built on years of hands-on advocacy, deep familiarity with the law, and real-world results.
Many families are approached by attorneys or organizations that promise help but lack specific experience in religious accommodation and clinical placement cases. In some situations, families pay substantial fees without receiving effective guidance.
AVFCA provides this support at no cost so that every student, regardless of financial resources, has access to knowledgeable, strategic, and results-driven advocacy.
If you or someone you know is preparing to enter a healthcare or professional program with clinical or rotation requirements, start early. Seek accurate guidance, insist on written policies, and reach out for help as soon as concerns arise. These cases take time, and early action makes all the difference.
