Say what you will about caucusing, but nobody can deny that the whole process is oh-so-very Iowan.

Retail politics, face-to-face conversations, grassroots community organizing… I’m not saying that you can’t do those things in other states, but let’s be real:

Iowans just do it better.

We want to make a strong showing and let Iowans of all political stripes know that we’re building a great, big, inclusive tent here at Team Sand. Can I count on you to help spread the word by chipping in $25 ahead of the caucus kickoff this evening?

Caucusing allows for state and local candidates to talk to folks who might not be tuned in yet.

For a lot of people, this is the moment when they start getting involved.

To those folks, I say welcome aboard.

And just like any other event, I’m viewing this as an opportunity to talk to even more Iowans about the issues that matter most to them, like affordability, health care, and their kids’ education.

After a decade of one-sided partisan control, there’s a real appetite for something better, and this is a great chance to share my plan to move our state forward.
