John,
The fight to protect New Hampshire's children from political indoctrination in our public schools is at a critical moment.
House Bill 1792, the "Countering Hate and Revolutionary Leftist Indoctrination in Education Act" (CHARLIE Act), is up for public hearing today at 2:00 PM.
The opposition is overwhelming, and we need your help to level the playing field and show the committee that Granite Staters stand for academic focus, parental rights, and freedom from divisive ideologies.
HB 1792 prohibits public schools, school districts, and school employees from teaching or promoting certain pedagogies in the classroom, including critical race theory, LGBTQ+ ideologies presented as normative or ethical, identity-based ideologies, and Marxist analyses that divide people by race, class, or other categories.
The bill requires the Department of Education to issue guidance on compliant instruction and allows for disciplinary action against violators.
It also creates a private right of action, allowing students and parents to file civil lawsuits against noncompliant schools or districts, with remedies including injunctive relief, compensatory damages, and attorneysβ fees.
