Hi John,

My Democratic opponent Rep. Derek Kilmer sent out an interesting mailer recently. Can you help me counter it with my own ads by rushing a $3 donation now?

It’s all about how he’s supposedly for universal health care, expanding Social Security, fighting big money in politics, and “addressing” systemic racism.

Let’s take his points one by one:

1. Kilmer’s health care plan would leave 10-15 million people uninsured, as reported by The Stranger.

2. Kilmer joined with Republicans to sign a letter calling for Mitt Romney’s plan to gut Social Security behind closed doors. The fact that Kilmer has cosponsored a Social Security messaging bill that’s gone nowhere year after year doesn’t negate that fact.

3. Kilmer has taken over $3 MILLION from corporate PACs. So much for reducing the role of big money in politics.

4. Kilmer voted in 2014 to keep the police militarized.

I’m running for Congress because I’m tired of Democrats who say one thing and do another. We need Democrats who follow through, and that’s what I’ll do in Congress. Can you donate $3 now to help me replace Kilmer and fight for our progressive Democratic agenda in Congress?

Additionally, the idea that Kilmer opposes Trump is ludicrous. Kilmer voted for:

• Trump’s wall.

• Trump’s defense budget.

• Trump’s trade bill, “NAFTA 2.0.”

• Funding ICE without enough protections for kids separated from their parents.

• Extending the Patriot Act.

• Funding DHS while they act as Trump’s secret police in Portland and other Democratic cities.

• Warrantless surveillance of your internet browsing.

Can you donate $3 now to help me win, so we can get a Democrat in office who will ACTUALLY fight the far-right’s authoritarian agenda?

Kilmer is spending over half a million dollars on misleading ads and mailers because he’s nervous about our campaign.

Why else would he suddenly emphasize Social Security?

For the last month of this campaign, I’ve set the terms of the debate, and Kilmer has been forced to respond. And forced to spend over half a million trying to hold on to his seat.
