We’ve got some bad news: The nomination of Judy Shelton, Donald Trump’s pick for the Federal Reserve Board, has just made it out of committee -- and will go to a full Senate vote soon. Tell your Senators to reject Shelton!

Judy Shelton’s fringe beliefs have no place on the Federal Reserve Board, where she would oversee the nation’s monetary policy in the middle of a recession. For starters, she wants to return to the gold standard, an idea that has been roundly panned by respected economists. This is someone who actually believes Wall Street and predatory lenders were totally blameless for the financial crisis that leveled the economy in 2009! And she’s already cooked up ways to enrich Donald Trump at taxpayers’ expense. She is utterly unfit for this important role -- especially at this crucial moment for our nation and economy.

Here are just a few of Shelton’s most outrageous ideas and views:

• She suggested holding an international summit on monetary policy at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago golf resort -- a Constitution-flouting arrangement that could once again come at U.S. taxpayers’ expense. (Sign on to stop her >>>)
• She wants to privatize the Postal Service, a move which would be to the detriment of rural America. (Tell your Senators to block Shelton >>>)
• She once exclaimed that she is “tired of the criticism… even among Republicans” that “Wall Street greed or predatory lending” led to the financial crisis (yes, she actually said that!). (Don’t let this extremism get through Senate approval >>>)
• And she scoffed at the Federal Reserve’s legally required responsibility to maintain full employment: “I don’t know that that is really the Fed’s job.”

Friend, during this time of great uncertainty and economic turmoil in our nation, the last thing we need is someone with Judy Shelton’s extremist views and agenda at the Federal Reserve.
