Team, With exactly one week to go until Pramila’s primary, it’s already my busiest week yet as the campaign’s field director — but Pramila asked me to take a quick break from phone-banking and getting out the vote to share what’s at stake for our campaign in these final days. As we get down to the wire, it’s more important than ever that my team has the funding to make sure voters re-elect Pramila and her people-first agenda to Congress — but we can’t let our message be drowned out by our four challengers, who are determined to unseat her and maintain a status quo that puts corporations over people. Our campaign has set a goal to raise $9,000 before the end of the month so we have the resources to get out the vote to as many folks as possible, and we’re falling short. As an organizer, I know how important it is to elect strong progressive candidates whose policy agendas reflect the needs and experiences of the people they seek to represent. And as an immigrant, a woman of color, and an activist and organizer herself, Pramila has shown how important her voice is in Congress — from her fights for Medicare for All and immigrant rights in as the co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus to the way she speaks out against racism and misogyny on the House floor. So we need all hands on deck to make sure she can defeat our four primary challengers and keep fighting for our shared progressive values to bring about the transformative change we deserve.
