Today, I want to tell you about two progressive champions running for
Congress in Texas and Iowa to flip red seats blue. These are key states we
need to compete in, and win, this November.

Candace Valenzuela in TX-24 would be the first Black Latina ever elected
to the U.S. Congress. She has the lived experience of facing the same
systemic racism and poverty that so many Texas families face every day.
She’ll bring that perspective to Congress to fight for them.

J.D. Scholten in IA-04 is running to flip the seat currently held by white
nationalist Congressman Steve King. J.D. came just three points shy of
flipping this seat in 2018. And with King losing in the Republican
primary, J.D. has an extraordinary opportunity to win.

Candace and J.D. are counting on strong grassroots support to build their
campaigns and flip their districts blue.
