This tax season is shaping up to be the largest tax refund season in American history, thanks to real tax relief delivered for working families.

Under the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, millions of Americans are expected to see significantly larger refunds. Economic analyses project average refunds rising by $1,000 or more, with some estimates showing increases of 15 to 30 percent. In total, taxpayers could receive up to $50 billion more in refunds this year.

Key provisions include no tax on tips, overtime, or Social Security. The bill also permanently increases the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 per child, delivers a permanent 20 percent deduction for small businesses, and is projected to protect or create up to 7.2 million jobs nationwide.

Every child born in the United States between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, is eligible. Each qualifying child receives a one-time $1,000 investment placed into an index fund held in the child’s name, with a parent or guardian serving as custodian until age 18.

Families are not required to contribute additional funds, but parents, employers, nonprofits, and philanthropists may add to the account over time if they choose. The goal is straightforward: allow early investments to grow so they can later support education, the purchase of a first home, or the launch of a small business.

Program estimates show that even a single $1,000 deposit at birth can grow substantially over time, demonstrating the power of early investment and long-term planning. Trump Accounts are scheduled to officially launch on July 4, 2026, with enrollment connected to the tax-filing process.
