Texas’ vote-by-mail rules are archaic and indicative of a state government that cares very little about public health or a free, fair election in November. Right now, Texans are eligible for mail-in ballots only if they are 65 years or older, are sick or have a disability, are traveling during early voting and Election Day, or are confined in jail. That leaves the vast majority of Texans unable to choose to vote from home for a myriad of other legitimate reasons. We need comprehensive vote-by-mail NOW.
