Texas Weathered the Storm 

Following severe winter weather across North Texas, TX-25 was prepared and able to safely weather the storm. I want to recognize the men and women who made this possible: our law enforcement officers, first responders, linemen, and emergency management teams who worked around the clock to protect our communities. Their dedication kept our power on, roads passable, and families safe amid dangerous conditions. We owe them our sincere thanks and continued support.

Investing in the Next Generation 

This week, President Trump launched Trump Accounts, a new investment opportunity created under the Working Families Tax Cuts, giving the next generation a real stake in America’s future. 

As we kick off tax season, I encourage families to consider this program. Parents can open an account by filing IRS Form 4547 with their tax return this year or at any time after their child is born. These accounts promote long-term financial security while instilling the values of saving, investing, and personal responsibility from an early age.  

Putting Parents First in Education 

This Monday, we recognized National School Choice Week. Children are the future of our nation, and parents deserve a real voice in how and where their children are educated. President Trump’s Education Freedom Tax Credit expands affordable school choice options and returns decision-making to families, where it belongs.

Delivering for Our Veterans

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs recently announced nearly $5 billion to modernize and improve VA health care facilities nationwide, marking the largest single-year infrastructure investment in VA history. 

I was proud to support this funding in Congress. Our veterans, including many here in Texas, will be able to receive the quality care they deserve. 

Holocaust Remembrance Day 

This week, we observed Holocaust Remembrance Day, a solemn occasion to reflect on one of humanity's darkest chapters and to honor the millions of innocent lives lost.  

As the nation paused to remember, we also witnessed a powerful moment of hope. On Monday, the final Israeli hostage held in Gaza following the October 7, 2023, attacks was returned to his family. For the first time since 2014, there are no remaining hostages in Gaza. This long-awaited homecoming reflects the true strength of President Trump’s leadership.
