Last month, GOP-appointed judges on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals handed down a terrible decision upholding the worst of Scott Walker’s voter suppression efforts in Wisconsin. They took a hammer to early voting, saying “early voting isn’t a fundamental right.”
This is simply wrong. The Democratic Party of Wisconsin knows how important safe access to voting is. Wisconsinites shouldn’t have to wait in crowded, long lines to cast their ballots.
Donald Trump has said that he’s against a national vote-by-mail program because it would make it easier for people to cast their ballots. And if that happened, he knows he would lose.
That’s what's at stake here. Trump only won Wisconsin by a few thousand votes, so if the GOP is successful in keeping voters from casting their ballots, Trump can win here again.
