Friends,

We're in the thick of the final week of the legislative session. We can't let another two-year session end without a single major climate accomplishment. The fact that the carbon pricing bill was killed in committee last week and withdrawn as an amendment this week shows that we need to be even louder.

We expect a climate bill will be out this Wednesday or Thursday. We'll only have hours to evaluate the bill, organize amendments, and recruit co-sponsors. Please join our rapid response team so we can be ready.

I'd also like to take a quick moment to introduce myself as the new Digital Organizer & Communications Specialist. Hi, I'm Sam! I studied political science and psychology in college and I've worked on political campaigns and digital strategies. I've been a lifelong climate activist, and I’m so looking forward to getting to know you all and working together to bring about a better future for Massachusetts and the planet.

Keep scrolling for more ways you can get involved this week.

In solidarity,

Sam Payne

URGENT: Join our Rapid Response Team to take Immediate Legislative Action

Mass Power Forward is trying to get environmental justice and 100% renewable energy passed before the end of the legislative session. This Wednesday or Thursday, we expect the House to release a climate bill from committee. Once the climate bill is released, we have to act fast. We need to:

  1.  Read it and see what's missing
  2. Move sponsors for amendments for things that are missing, and
  3. Gather co-sponsors for those amendments.

We'll only have a short time (perhaps 24 hours) to gather co-sponsors for our amendments. Can you sign up to join the rapid response team? You'll receive an email or text when we need your immediate help to follow this action guide (we'll fill in the correct amendment numbers).

We'll also host a quick zoom meeting to explain the bill and the amendments we're supporting, but only with 1 hour notice! Sign up here and please spread the word.
