John: Today is National Vote By Mail Day, and one of the best things you can do to celebrate is to chip in to make sure voters can safely and confidently cast their ballots from home in the 2020 election.
In the wake of the current health crisis, voters face new risks to their health when casting ballots in person.
While some states have taken action to ensure voters can vote by mail to protect their health and safety as well as the integrity of their vote, there are still Trump allies in several states that refuse to expand voting by mail before the election.
It's a big problem -- in primaries across the country, we’ve seen voters encounter obstacles when voting in-person. In addition to the risks voting in person poses to folks’ health, voters in Georgia, Kentucky, and Wisconsin endured long lines, broken machines, and issues with ballots.
We can’t afford for that to happen on a national scale this November. Not only does it threaten voters’ health it could also effectively disenfranchised voters all over the country.
But we’re taking action.
Vote From Home 2020 making 100,000 calls this week to key swing state voters to get them to mail-in their vote to defeat Trump.
We can’t execute our outreach efforts though without grassroots support -- if you can, chip in today.
Thanks,
Team VFH 2020
