I got into this race because I know the status quo isn’t working for most Massachusetts families.

It’s not working for the restaurant owner in Springfield fighting tooth and nail to keep his business afloat. It’s not working for the young parents in Worcester spending their entire paycheck on child care. It’s not working for the immigrant families in Chelsea that we call essential but leave defenseless. It’s not working for the proud union workers in Quincy or Gloucester fighting for a foothold in an economy that won’t offer them a break.

We can’t keep sending the same folks back to Washington and expect different results. If we want a better future for Massachusetts, we need to move on from the policies and politicians of the past. Senator Markey has had a seat at the decision-making table for 47 years. And this is where we are.

Every day, our people are out there fighting for something better. We need new leadership that will fight with them — by their side. Not from afar in Washington D.C.
