John,

This is a long email about why I first got into the race for CA-08, but I hope you’ll take a moment to read it, and consider making a donation to support my campaign.

I first decided to run for Congress after the ACA came under attack in 2017. I spent my career working in the healthcare sector, and it was unconscionable to see politicians making it even harder for Americans to receive affordable health care.

The issue is also personal to me.

My daughter, Ellie, grew up with epilepsy.

My mother received long-term care for dementia before she passed away from COVID-19 in May. Several years ago, my father lost his long battle with cancer and heart disease.

Fighting to get the care that my family needed gave me a firsthand look at how dysfunctional our system is.

I’m running because we all deserve quality, affordable healthcare and no one should have to fight with insurance companies for coverage or go bankrupt in the process of getting the care they need.

My opponent doesn’t get that. He’s already promised to side with Trump and cut the Affordable Care Act. But we already know that’s not in the best interests of our community.

I need your help to defeat Jay Obernolte, but we’re short of our end-of-month goal. Will you make a donation before July ends to help us keep fighting?

If you've saved your information with ActBlue Express your contribution will process instantly

Thanks so much for being with me,

Chris
