Earlier this month, federal prosecutors opened investigations into Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. Using the justice system to target elected officials is un-American. This is the kind of tactic we see in authoritarian governments, not in a democracy governed by the rule of law.
Seth introduced the FAIR Justice Act earlier this month to draw clear limits and stop this kind of abuse.
This bill sets clear safeguards so federal prosecutions can’t be used as political retaliation, and it protects the integrity of the justice system and the voters it serves.
As we head into the final days of the month, pushing this legislation forward is urgent and critical. Congress needs to act, and our campaign is committed to putting continued pressure on this issue. Meeting our end-of-month goal helps keep this fight front and center and gives this campaign the capacity to keep pressing Congress to act.
