John,
It was great to be back in the district and hear directly from constituents.
But it was also a busy week across the country. From major momentum on
year-round E15 to strong pro-life leadership from President Trump and real
results in Congress, we’re delivering on the issues that matter most to
Minnesotans.
President Trump made it clear this week in an Iowa rally that he’s ready to
sign year-round E15 into law. This is huge news for Minnesota farmers and rural
communities. For years, our growers and ethanol producers have asked for
certainty so they can invest, hire, and keep fueling America. Expanding E15
year-round means stronger demand for homegrown corn, lower prices at the pump,
and more energy produced in the Midwest. It’s a win for farmers, consumers, and
energy independence. I’ve been pushing to get this legislation across the
finish line, and I’m ready to send it to President Trump’s desk. Washington has
stalled long enough. Let’s get this done and deliver real results for rural
America.
This week brought real progress for the pro-life movement. President Trump
restored and expanded the Mexico City Policy to ensure American tax dollars are
never used to promote or fund abortions overseas. His administration redirected
NIH funding away from fetal tissue and embryonic stem cell research toward
ethical alternatives that respect human life. Officials also moved to review
millions in federal loans sent to Planned Parenthood and rolled back
pro-abortion policies from the Biden years. At the same time, conscience
protections were strengthened for health care providers and patients who refuse
to participate in abortions. In Congress, my legislation to support pregnancy
resource centers passed the House, and I see a path for its passage in the
Senate. I am very pleased to say we have pro-life President and a pro-life
Congress who are taking action to protect and respect life.
And during remarks at the March for Life, Speaker Mike Johnson publicly
recognized our work in Congress to protect life and support moms and families,
including my aforementioned bill to allow federal assistance to support
pregnancy resource centers across the country. These centers provide diapers,
formula, counseling, care, and hope for hundreds of thousands of women every
year. It’s a victory for compassion and for life to ensure they aren’t punished
by Washington politics. I’m grateful for the Speaker’s recognition and proud to
be delivering real results for families.
As always, thank you for your continued trust and support. Don’t hesitate to
reach out if you have any questions or need assistance with anything.
With gratitude,
