Our district is getting the Stephen Miller treatment.

Earlier this month, the Trump administration’s top racist, Stephen Miller, went on a Twitter rant about cities like ours being “transformed” into refugee camps, then describing things that are not happening.

They’re repeating the same pre-election playbook. Just weeks before the 2024 election, JD Vance, Trump, and others began making wild and false accusations that immigrants in Springfield, Ohio were eating cats and dogs. These were statements made purely out of xenophobia and racism, as a way to gin up fear and get people to vote Republican.

Now, they’re doing the exact same thing and specifically referencing Eau Claire because they’re terrified that Derrick Van Orden is going to lose.

But we’re not going to roll over and let Trump and his cronies tell false, disgusting rumors on DVO’s behalf, and Emily will never back down from protecting these communities from attacks.

Emily has already withstood attacks from DC on our city and district. When xenophobic billboards went up in Eau Claire in 2024 targeting our Somali refugee communities, Emily doubled down on her support.

When Tom Tiffany sent a letter to Emily demanding she do something about the so-called refugee problem in Eau Claire, she sent one right back and told him to back off.

When Stephen Miller wrote a racist novella on Twitter about cities like ours being made “unlivable” by immigrants, she got louder.

We can choose leaders who don’t speak out in the face of injustice, or we can choose leaders like Emily who have already spoken out and defended our communities time and time and time again.
