Extreme politicians in Montgomery are already working on redrawing our fair maps and clawing back on all of the progress we have fought so hard for.

According to Alabama Daily News, state legislators just advanced a bill that would trigger special primary elections in congressional districts impacted by redistricting — but only after the U.S. Supreme Court rules on a case in Louisiana.

“It creates an additional window of approximately 100 days.” — Alabama State Senator Chris Elliott

Let me translate what that really means: They’re rewriting the rules midseason, hoping to regain power they lost when voters like you elected leaders like Shomari Figures in newly redrawn, more representative districts.

They are counting on confusion, chaos, and exhaustion to keep our communities from turning out.
