Ivanka Trump showed up at a Duluth manufacturing plant yesterday, touting a pledge to support workers and convince the public that she and Pete Stauber have the interest of laborers at heart.

Don't be fooled by this smoke-and-mirrors performance. It's a publicity stunt meant to distract us from Pete Stauber's poor record of advocating for labor unions — including voting no to H.R. 2474 the Protecting the Right to Organize Act just earlier this year.

Quinn herself is a union member who has real experience on the ground listening to and lifting up the voices of workers, and she's got the endorsements to prove it: AFSCME Council 5 and Council 65 — two major labor groups that represent about 60,000 workers — just recently endorsed Quinn, reaffirming her continued commitment to labor groups.

But we can't let Quinn's record of fighting for workers get overshadowed by the optics show that Ivanka Trump and Pete Stauber are trying to pull over our heads. We have to get Quinn's message out there and show the public that she is a true champion for workers
