“Be good. Do good work.”
I adopted that simple motto during my Navy career, and it served me well in Washington, too. It means treating people with respect. Taking accountability and holding others to account. Speaking the truth. Standing firmly in one’s convictions. Doing the unglamorous daily work that adds up to meaningful change. Doing what’s right, even and especially when it’s hard.
That’s why I’m running for Congress again, even though I know nothing about this race will be easy.
John, today is the final day of my campaign's January fundraising period.
I don’t have any ultra-persuasive talking points to convince you to chip in before midnight.
You already know that American elections are absurdly expensive, and you know this particular battleground race has national implications.
You know the kind of leader I’ll be if and when we take back VA-02 and the House majority.
Instead of a long, persuasive argument, I have one simple, no-frills request before midnight: Please invest $25 to help me be a good leader who does good work for the good people of Coastal Virginia. [[link removed]]
