The Voting Rights Fund is proud to endorse Rep. Dave Min for re-election of California’s 47 Congressional Seat in 2026. We first met Congressman Min during the 2024 campaign, and we’ve been inspired by his dedication to standing up for all Americans ever since.
As a freshman member of Congress, Dave has quickly become one of the clearest proponents of voting rights issues. Dave’s commitment to protecting the rule of law is central to his advocacy for his district and for people across America. Dave understands the key to preserving our democracy is protecting equal opportunity for all.
As a lawyer, Dave is an expert in voting rights and election law, and brings years of legal experience to the table. He has authored several critical bills protecting citizens against harmful voter ID laws which target the most vulnerable members of our society. When it comes to tackling threats to our democracy, Dave is an agile legislator and creative problem solver who isn’t constrained by institutional thinking.

In His Own Words: Protecting the Right to Vote — A Statement by Congressman Dave Min (CA-47)
Protecting our right to vote is one of the most sacred and fundamental responsibilities of our government. It is the very foundation of our democracy. As a former law professor who has spent my career fighting for the rule of law, I know that voting rights are the foundation of any robust democracy, and that is why I have been so outspoken about expanding and protecting this franchise and more generally our fair and free elections, even as voting rights have come under attack under the bogus claims of voter fraud.
From Supreme Court rulings hacking away at the Voting Rights Act to outright lies to undermine faith in our elections, bad actors are doing everything possible to suppress our voice.
The sad truth is that this administration has totally disregarded our system of checks and balances in implementing its chaotic, cruel agenda. They know that without free and fair elections, there is no accountability, which is why they are hellbent on eroding our right to vote.
Last year, I had the privilege to join the Civil Rights Pilgrimage to Selma, Alabama, and march on the Edmund Pettus Bridge on the 60th anniversary of Bloody Sunday. As I crossed the bridge, I reflected on those who came before us, including the late, great Rep. John Lewis. These marchers were beaten and bruised for peacefully demonstrating for the right to vote. In the face of new attacks on our freedom to vote, their courage is a lesson to us all to never sit back while our fundamental rights are under threat.
In Congress, I will continue working to protect and expand access to the ballot box, support commonsense reforms that strengthen confidence in our elections, and oppose efforts to suppress voter participation. A healthy democracy requires that all eligible voters have the opportunity to make their voices heard.
Why We Need Dave In Office
The threats against our democracy are greater than ever. Earlier this week, the Trump administration seized thousands of ballots in Fulton County, the same county Trump was indicted in for racketeering to overturn the 2020 election.
Attacks on our elections officials and our democracy are increasing under this administration. That’s why we need to re-elect Congressman Min to help fight against democratic backsliding. Free and fair elections are essential pillars of democracy, and upholding them is critical to our health and stability as a nation. As the Trump administration ratchets up its rhetoric surrounding election fraud and continues to target people of color across the country, we can look to representatives like Dave Min to unflinchingly fight for equality and fair representation.
