“Leukemia” is not a word any 8-year-old should have to hear.
So when wish kid Abby learned of her diagnosis, her life turned upside down. She spent much of the year sick from treatment, keeping up with schoolwork from home.
But something wonderful happened when Abby learned she would receive a wish. Her fear and loneliness were replaced by hope, anticipation and the belief that maybe – just maybe – anything is possible. Will you help grant a waiting wish today?A wish restores a piece of childhood that’s lost to the rigors of treatment.
“The role of hope has been so important for us in this journey.
It gets you through…” wish mom Carla said.
Abby’s wish to have a tea-party themed play house grew out of her love for her family and spending time together – it has a fridge, a chandelier and there are two beds so she and her sister can camp out!
“If she’s having a rough day … it can make that rough day less rough for her,” wish mom Carla commented.
