I usually try to keep these emails on the short side, but today, I have some thoughts I’d like to share with you.
It’s no trouble if you’re in a hurry; come back and read this when you can. Still, if you’d like to make a quick contribution towards a Senate that works for you and not the richest 100 Americans, chip in whatever you can here.
Here’s why I’m increasingly optimistic about Democratic strength in this year’s midterm elections:
- We’re recruiting top-notch candidates who know how to win in purple and red states
- We’re keeping the conversation on kitchen-table issues like affordability and health care
- We’re running campaigns tailored to each state’s unique challenges
- We’re overperforming everywhere — including in the reddest parts in the country
- Numerous polls show more voters trust Democrats on the economy, health care, jobs, and more
When I first decided to run for Senate, I never anticipated that the president of the United States would spend my first year in office viciously targeting Maryland: sabotaging our economy, stealing our livelihoods, illegally arresting our neighbors, cutting our social safety nets.
The president has tried every dictator tactic in the book to shut us down. He’s failed.
With your support, I’ve introduced and cosponsored hundreds of bills and resolutions, forced the release of the Epstein files, led the charge to remove RFK Jr. from his undeserved position of power, worked on legislation on a wide range of issues, and kept the spotlight on the corruption and failings of this president.
If we could achieve all that under a pro-Trump majority, imagine what we could achieve with a pro-America majority.
I won’t pretend winning the Senate will be a piece of cake. Democrats face a tough map, and this president and his enablers will use the power of government to try to stop us.
But in 2024, far-right groups spent $26,687,041 unsuccessfully trying to defeat me. Democrats even held key Senate seats in Nevada, Michigan, Arizona, and Wisconsin — all states where Trump won the presidential vote.
This time, we're going to show this unpopular president and his inner circle of billionaires that America belongs to the many, not the money.
My first fundraising deadline of the election year is tonight, and the closer we get to hitting our January fundraising goal, the more I can focus my efforts on uplifting strong candidates across the nation.
Will you chip in $25 to help me support top-notch Democratic candidates in key Senate races, defend free and fair elections, and take back power in November?
No matter what happens in this year’s midterms, I will never stop seeking freedom and security for the people of Maryland.
Thank you for reading all the way through,
Angela Alsobrooks
