Weekend Reading

Hi Friend,

Thank you to everyone who spoke out this week against the ICE and Border Patrol violence. Your voices matter—and we need to keep the pressure on.

Everyone deserves to live in peace and dignity. But right now, the Trump administration is using brutal measures to detain and deport people. ICE and Border Patrol are conducting violent raids, tearing families apart, and have even killed people—with no accountability.

That’s why we must keep mobilizing to protect our community members, our neighborhoods, and our rights. Tell elected officials: Keep ICE and Border Patrol out of our communities! [link removed]

GLOBAL PEACEBUILDING

Trauma healing in South Sudan [link removed]

In South Sudan, AFSC is supporting people working to build peace in their communities. We focus on helping peacebuilders find healing for their own trauma. That helps to ensure that they are able to get the care they need, while strengthening their resilience and ability to assist community members. Watch this video to hear from some of these peacebuilders. [link removed]

PALESTINIAN RIGHTS

New exhibit bears witness to Palestinian past, present, and future [link removed]

Earlier this month, AFSC and Visualizing Palestine launched the exhibit “Why We Record: Defying Fragmentation and Erasure in Palestine” at the Museum of the Palestinian People in Washington, D.C. The exhibit includes art by Palestinian artists, photos from AFSC's archives, and written excerpts from Palestinian writers. Get a sneak peek of the exhibit in this Instagram video. STRONGER WITH IMMIGRANTS

How AFSC is supporting immigrants in this moment

As communities face escalating threats, our century-long commitment to immigrant justice is stronger than ever. Thanks to supporters like you, we are training thousands in Know Your Rights workshops, supporting local ICE watch programs, and providing free legal representation to immigrants in detention.
