Email from Rep. Pfluger It was a great week back in TX-11! I hosted a community town hall in Ballinger and was honored to speak with members of the Rotary Club of Brady and the Kiwanis Club of Brownwood at their monthly meet January 30, 2026 Friend, Welcome back to the Pfluger Fly-By, a weekly roundup of the work I am doing to represent you and our communities in Congress. It was a great week back in TX-11! I hosted a community town hall in Ballinger and was honored to speak with members of the Rotary Club of Brady and the Kiwanis Club of Brownwood at their monthly meetings. I also joined Celinda Hawkins and JR on the Morning Show on KXYL Newstalk, and spent time in the LIVE! studio with Joe Hyde sharing Air Force stories. In addition, I joined my Republican Study Committee colleagues in urging the Senate pass the SAVE Act to help secure our elections. Along with this weekly recap, I have included a comprehensive list of resources for those who were severely impacted or suffered agricultural losses from Winter Storm Fern. I am grateful to our first responders and local leaders who demonstrated outstanding leadership in preparing the communities across Texas-11 for the freezing temperatures. As always, my team and I are here to serve you. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need assistance. Best, Ballinger Town Hall It was great being back in Ballinger this week to host a community town hall and meet with constituents in person. I'm extremely grateful to everyone who attended and participated in the discussion. During the town hall, I was proud to recognize Mrs. Allison Busenlehner, Rotary Interact Sponsor at Ballinger High School, and her students for their outstanding service to the community. Their work represents the very best of Ballinger and demonstrates that academic excellence and community service go hand in hand. As a friendly reminder, I strongly believe in hosting in-person town halls as your elected representative. I have held 110 across the district and will, of course, continue hosting them throughout the year. Please follow me on social media to stay up to date and learn when and where they will be held: @RepAugustPfluger on Instagram, @RepPfluger on X, and Congressman August Pfluger on Facebook. Air Force Stories with Joe Hyde As a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, former fighter pilot, and Colonel in the Reserve, I was honored to join Joe Hyde in the LIVE! studio to share Air Force stories and reflect on our time in uniform. While we flew different aircraft, Joe and I share a lot in common through our service in the U.S. Air Force. We had a lively and meaningful discussion that I hope you'll take the time to watch. You can listen to our full interview here or by clicking the image below. Rotary Club of Brady I had a fantastic time speaking with members of the Rotary Club of Brady this week! It was great to spend time with a group so committed to making a positive impact in our community. Rotary Clubs are essential for bringing people of all generations together who share a passion for service and wish to create lasting change. I'm grateful for the incredible work and impact Rotary Clubs continue to have across Texas-11. Kiwanis Club of Brownwood I also had a wonderful time speaking with members of the Kiwanis Club of Brownwood at their monthly meeting. I'm grateful for the meaningful work they do to serve others and make a real difference in the lives of so many in the community. Hearing directly from community leaders and constituents is crucial to my work representing you in Congress. I thank the Brownwood Kiwanis Club for the warm welcome and thoughtful discussion on the direction of our country. The Senate Must Pass the SAVE Act As Chairman of the Republican Study Committee (RSC), I joined nearly thirty of my colleagues in urging the Senate to take up and pass the SAVE Act to secure U.S. elections. Voting in American elections is a right reserved for American citizens only, plain and simple. The House did its job by passing this critical legislation months ago, and it's time for the Senate to act. The longer the Senate delays, the longer this commonsense legislation sits on the shelf. Seven Democrat senators must decide whether to stand with Republicans to affirm that our elections are legal, fair, and reserved for American citizens. Read more about our effort to get the SAVE Act to President Trump's desk in The Blaze here or by clicking the image below. Tax Season is Here! Texas-11 is Going to Keep More in Their Pockets. This week marked the start of the 2026 tax season. I firmly believe that Americans deserve lower taxes and less government in their lives. Thanks to House Republicans passing the Working Families Tax Cuts (WFTC) last year, Americans are set to keep more of their hard-earned money. The most impactful victory from the WFTC is the permanent extension of the 2017 Trump tax cuts. Without this, over 475,000 taxpayers in Texas’s 11th Congressional District would have faced a devastating 26% tax increase – the largest in American history. This legislation is a clear response to what the American people demanded, and House Republicans delivered on their promises. What You Can Look Forward to this Tax Season: No tax on overtime No tax on tips No tax on social security for 88% of all seniors who receive it Expanded Child Tax Credit and Adoption Tax Credit Enhanced Standard Deduction Trump Savings Accounts for America's children (Learn about enrolling your child here) Enhanced death tax exemptions of $15 million per individual Broadened small business tax breaks Last fall, I penned an op-ed in the San Angelo Standard Times outlining these historic, tangible wins for Texas thanks to the Largest Working Families Tax Cut package in American history.
