Dear John,
The Senate has introduced a new coronavirus relief
package, but the relief is missing.
The bill, which was introduced July 27, leaves out any
efforts to strengthen the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
SNAP is one of the best, most effective ways to make sure kids get the
food they need, especially during the current crisis.
And for millions of hungry kids, there's no end to this
crisis in sight.
TAKE ACTION: Tell your Senators that children and families need stronger
SNAP benefits to weather this storm.

Please urge your Senators to:
* Temporarily increase the maximum SNAP benefit amount by at least
15% and increase the minimum benefit from $16 to $30 for all
SNAP households. This will allow more parents to afford the
groceries they need to feed their kids as the pandemic
continues.
* Extend the distribution of Pandemic EBT, a short-term benefit
that covers the value of some of the school meals missed due to
school closures (about $5.70 a day).
* And expand eligibility for P-EBT to include children under six
who would otherwise receive free meals through childcare
providers.
John,
this hunger crisis is getting worse and it's not ending any time
soon. An independent study commissioned by No Kid Hungry found that
more than ever, children and families are at great risk.
The most vulnerable families are already bearing a
disproportionate share of the sickness, unemployment and other
hardships the pandemic has wrought. The least we can do is make sure
they can put food on the table.
Thanks in advance for your help.
