John, it's Hannah Pingree.

We're nearing the end of January, almost 30 days since our campaign filing deadline, and soon my team will meet to evaluate our fundraising progress and decide on our gameplan for the last 130 days leading up to our June primary.

How much we are able to raise this month will directly impact our voter outreach budget moving forward. Digital ads, volunteer literature, signs, and more.

But forget about that for just a moment, because I want to talk to you about why I'm even running for governor to begin with.

We are living in very urgent times, when so much of the progress we've made on protecting our rights can no longer be taken for granted. Our ability to tackle the big challenges we're facing, like the need for more affordable housing, rising costs for families, and the growing healthcare crisis has never been more important.

I often tell the story of the community I grew up in: an island town of just 400 people where we had no choice but to work together to solve the issues we face. This community – where my parents both dug in – made me who I am today.

My parents both volunteered as EMT's. They both served on the school board, they both ran small businesses. We didn't just know our neighbors — we depended on each other to make life work, because John, no one was coming to save us but each other.

And that is where we are today – no one is coming to save us. The Trump administration is mounting a full-scale attack on the values Maine holds dear — our health care systems and food programs, public education funding, and environmental protection.

I've spent my entire political career standing up for my neighbors and my state - and working to improve the lives of Maine people. From serving as Speaker of the Maine House to chairing my local school board, I've learned that when something needs to be done, Mainers know how to come together, roll up our sleeves, and make big things happen.

Maine's future is worth the fight and if you're with me, I need your support.

I am respectfully asking you to donate $7 or even $25 before January ends. The only way we're going to win is with your help. The primary is a few short months away. Thank you for your generous support.

If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process now.
