Dear Friend,

Americans deserve elections that they can trust. After all, confidence in our voting system is the backbone of our Republic, yet today that confidence is at an all-time low.

Last year, I explained how our election system does not require proof of U.S. citizenship when individuals register to vote. Individuals simply check a box saying they are a citizen, and somehow that’s considered “good enough” to vote.

This is why states from Ohio to Virginia to Texas have discovered non-citizens on their voter rolls, with some even casting ballots.

And in states like California, Illinois, and Minnesota, voters aren’t even required to show ID at the polls. You can view a map of states that do not require photo ID to vote here.

This opens the door to fraud and dilutes the voice of every legal voter. We should all agree that the integrity of our elections should be better than “good enough.”

Wisconsinites have seen these vulnerabilities and demanded change. In 2025, 63% of voters supported requiring voter ID. In 2024, 70% voted to ensure non-citizens do not vote in our elections. These are overwhelming majorities that cut across party lines, and they emphasize that the people of our state want elections that are secure, transparent, and honest.

But Wisconsin Democrats continue to stand in the way. They have blocked audits of our voter rolls, even as concerns grow about outdated data. Attorney General Josh Kaul went so far as to sue in order to overturn a Waukesha judge’s decision requiring the Wisconsin Elections Commission to check for non-citizens on our rolls.

If you’re afraid of transparency, it usually means you’re trying to hide something. It also shows why Congress must finally deliver serious election reforms.

That is why I voted for the SAVE Act to require proof of citizenship when individuals register to vote, and it’s also why this week I cosponsored Congressman Bryan Steil’s (WI-01) Make Elections Great Again (MEGA) Act.

The MEGA Act is a common-sense election reform bill that requires voter ID, verifies citizenship during registration, and ensures states maintain accurate voter rolls.

It also requires mail ballots to arrive by the close of polls on Election Day, makes sure states use auditable paper ballots rather than electronic slips, and bans ballot harvesting, where political operatives can pick up any voter’s absentee or mail-in ballot for any reason and deliver it to the polling location completely unchecked.

Every American must show documentation to fly, to obtain a hunting or fishing license, and heck, even to buy a beer. Our elections should be no different. You can read more about the MEGA Act here.

One illegal vote cancels out one lawful vote, and these reforms will restore trust, strengthen confidence, and give Americans peace of mind that our elections are honest.

Thanks again for starting off your weekend with us! We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of the Tiffany Telegram.

Sincerely,

Click here to learn more about my OMAR Act, which will prohibit lawmakers from funneling campaign cash to their spouse.

Politicians pocketing campaign cash?

For decades, lawmakers of both political parties have engaged in the dubious practice of pocketing political contributions by “hiring” their spouses and other family members as campaign staffers or vendors. Perhaps the most well-known example involves a current representative who paid her husband almost $3 million this way during a single election cycle. Another recently defeated representative shelled out thousands of dollars per month to her spouse for “security.” As crazy as this might sound, it is all perfectly legal thanks to a loophole in campaign finance law that enables politicians to effectively launder campaign donations and convert them into personal funds. It’s not right, and it’s one reason that so many people are so jaded about politics. Representatives should be serving their constituents; not finding new ways to make running for office a get-rich-quick scheme. That’s why I recently reintroduced the Oversight for Members And Relatives Act, or “OMAR Act” for short, with my colleague Rep. Tony Wied (WI-08). This legislation would put an end to the unsavory practice of candidates tapping into their campaign war chests to boost their family bank accounts. It’s a common-sense step we can take to restore public confidence in our democracy. You can read more about our bill here.

Every child deserves a quality education

Those on the left have spent years trying to convince us that parents have no rights over their child’s education. They instead argue that teachers, politicians, and academics know what is best, and that they should decide their future. For example, the Working Families Tax Cut, which Republicans passed and President Trump signed into law last year, allows taxpayers to claim a $1,700 tax credit for donations to nonprofit organizations that provide K-12 scholarships to low and middle-income students. It would provide tutoring, special needs services, school supplies, and more to Wisconsin kids in public and private schools. Unfortunately, this beneficial option has been blocked by Governor Evers who has decided to play politics with our kids rather than providing them with the quality education that they deserve. While I continue to urge the Evers administration to allow Wisconsinites to access this program, I have also cosponsored the Educational Choice for Children Act with Rep. Adrian Smith (NE-03), which will expand educational freedom for parents, allowing them to decide where and how their children are educated. We must continue to make sure that our children get the education that they deserve, and that parents have the final say when it comes to their child’s education.

A stake in the American Dream
This week, President Trump highlighted a new tax-advantaged savings option for kids, made possible with the Working Families Tax Cut. Starting July 4th, 2026, parents, guardians, or other custodians can open a Trump Account for a child under 18. The first step is to file IRS Form 4547 for your child with your federal tax return. For American children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, the Treasury will seed the account with a $1,000 contribution once the form is on file. After that, families can keep building it by adding up to $5,000 per year, and contributions can also come from employers, charities, and state, local, and tribal governments. Private support is already lining up, too, with major companies discussing matching contributions and large gifts pledged to make additional deposits for millions of kids in lower- and middle-income communities. This is the kind of policy that helps families start saving early and puts more Americans on the path to ownership. District Update

Attention high school marching bands

My office is accepting nominations to participate in the 2027 National Independence Day Parade in Washington, DC. This is open to any high school marching band in the Seventh District. This world-class parade will feature military and veteran units, marching bands representing states across our nation, floats, and much more. It is an annual parade that takes place along the National Mall on Constitution Avenue and celebrates America’s heritage. The organizers of the parade ask for nominations more than a year in advance to allow bands time to organize fundraisers and promote the parade among the community. If your school would like to be considered, please call our Wausau office at 715-298-9344 by March 1, 2026.
