"ON THE ROAD
WITH TONY..."
Welcome to our January newsletter!
Since I took office in 2021, I have made one of my top priorities to restore confidence and integrity to our elections in Macomb County.
One of the first things we did was to conduct a Forensic Audit of our election server for the 2020 elections. This allowed us to set up new enhanced protocols for future elections, such as turning off the modems and using the first ever watermarked paper ballots.
Of course, the job is not done as long as there continues to be concerns about our elections process.
In our "Video Feature" below we address some of those concerns, as well as news features on our continued efforts to keep chipping away at some of the challenges that we encounter.
Also, please see our feature below about 2025's incredible numbers that the Macomb County Clerk's Office processed during the year. A salute to our hard-working supervisors and staff.
And in our continued campaign to help protect the citizens of Macomb County, our free "Fraud Notify" alerts program has hit the 22,000 mark, an increase of almost 20,000 over the modest 1,300 sign-ups in 2021 when I took office.
For more information, please see the feature below.

Clerk Forlini addresses concerns about Macomb County Elections. For example, Macomb County is the only county to do a Forensic Audit of the election server for the 2020 elections. This allowed us to set up new enhanced protocols for future elections.

The Macomb County Clerk's Office free "Fraud Notify" alerts system has hit the 22,000 participants milestone during the month of January.
Clerk Forlini has watched the modest 1,300 sign-ups in 2021 balloon to the 22,000 mark during his five years in office.
With just a quick registration, Fraud Notify participants are notified via email anytime a document is recorded or changed under their name. That way, the residents and local businesses can determine if the recording is legitimate, giving them an early warning against potential property fraud.

"BY THE NUMBERS IN 2025..."
Some of the numbers that the Macomb County Clerk's Office processed during 2025:
*"Vital Records"* -- Employees in our Vital Records section processed 1,995 birth records and 7,818 death records (I don’t like the fact that we had 3,680 more deaths than births!). Love is in the air in Macomb with 4,564 marriage applications, but this comes with a bit of caution as we did have 9,239 first-time Concealed Pistol License applications.
*"Court Department"* -- In 2025 the Court Department processed a total of 370,353 e-filings and opened 16,314 new cases.
*"Election Department"* -- In 2025 the Election Department helped administer three elections across the County and trained 21 election workers.
*"Register of Deeds"* -- The Register of Deeds section recorded 115,739 documents, including 90,705 e-Recordings. More importantly, almost 21,000 residents have been added to our Fraud Notify system since I took office four years ago.
