Hi there,

Our utility bills are just too damn high.

When you add outrageous power bills on top of rent or a mortgage, groceries, gas, and other day-to-day expenses, it’s impossible to get ahead.

This Tuesday, February 3, Harrisburg will start the process of creating a budget for Pennsylvania, and it must tackle cost of living – with zero exceptions.

Pennsylvanians work too hard to be falling behind – and they don’t have to if our leaders use the state budget to lift up people and not billionaire CEOs.
* Prioritize clean energy deployment in our communities
* Reform our grid operator, PJM to lower our utility bills
* Invest in critical programs that will reduce pollution

The state legislature isn’t known for passing a budget on time, so we need to show up loud and united out of the gate. Send a message right now to urge your state lawmakers to invest in Pennsylvanians in the state budget this year. [[link removed]]

We’ve heard from hundreds of folks across the state just how stressful it’s gotten to pay their utility bill. Even if you keep the heat down low, your bill keeps going up!

But that’s not the only thing costing us an arm and a leg. Pennsylvanians are paying more for health care, for groceries, for rent – the list goes on.

We support our partners fighting for a living wage and affordable housing and healthcare, because we’re feeling stretched from all angles. And at the same time, our focus is the fight for affordable energy.

For too long, Pennsylvania lawmakers believed that coal, oil, and gas would serve our needs. They put all your eggs in one basket, and today only 4% of Pennsylvania’s electricity comes from renewable sources.

So here’s what we want to see in the state budget to lower our utility bills with a balanced mix of energy:
* Enact Conservation Voters of PA & PennFuture’s energy affordability agenda
* Ending incentives away to oil and gas and shifting them to solar
* Implement Governor Shapiro’s Lightning Plan
* Put strict guardrails on AI data centers
* Create the Home Preservation Program
* Continue to fund the Solar for Schools Grant Program
* Equitably invest in SEPTA and public transit agencies across the Commonwealth
* Reform our grid operator, PJM, to promote transparency, efficiency, and renewable energy growth

Can you carry this message to your elected officials so that they know their constituents support commonsense, affordable energy investments in the state budget?

TAKE ACTION FOR AFFORDABILITY [[link removed]]

These are tough times, and we really appreciate all that you do.
