I wanted to reach out personally because our end-of-January fundraising deadline is tomorrow .
This race is already one of the most competitive in the country. I won reelection by just 2.74% , Republicans are lining up behind a crowded primary field, and outside groups are already spending heavily to attack our campaign.
That’s why our January numbers matter so much. They won’t just close out the month — they’ll send an early message about whether we’re prepared to win this fight.
But this campaign has always been about more than politics. It’s about delivering real results that directly impact our community.
Just this week, I joined leaders at UNLV to celebrate the launch of a brand-new functional MRI (fMRI) machine — made possible by more than $4.5 million in federal funding I helped secure .
This isn’t abstract. This investment means:
• New brain health and Alzheimer’s research happening right here in southern Nevada
• Expanded training opportunities for UNLV students entering medical and health physics careers
• Better long-term health outcomes for Nevada families and seniors
It’s the first fMRI in Nevada dedicated solely to university research , and it’s a clear example of what effective leadership looks like: bringing federal dollars home and putting them to work for our community.
As southern Nevada’s only voice on the House Appropriations Committee, I’m fighting every day to make sure Nevada gets its fair share. But Republicans want to put a stop to that work, which is exactly why they’re targeting this seat.
