As we confront an out-of-control president and an administration determined to harm and terrorize communities across the country, it’s never been more important to link arms in solidarity as we stand for our core values of pluralism and democracy.

This gathering is an opportunity for Emerge New Mexico alumnae, supporters, and community members to come together to learn about the priorities and leadership of legislators. Our state must urgently harness the energy of this movement to build concrete legislative victories and take steps to protect our residents from an increasingly authoritarian federal government.
As the Trump administration continues to take a wrecking ball to American democracy, and as his toxic policies continue to raise prices for families, it’s more important than ever for us to come together at the state and local levels to push for meaningful change.
This year’s reception is especially meaningful as we celebrate Emerge New Mexico’s 20th anniversary in 2026 and a historic milestone for our state. New Mexico now has the largest female legislative majority in the United States. Thirty of the thirty-three Democratic women serving in the New Mexico House and seven of the eleven Democratic women serving the New Mexico Senate are proud Emerge New Mexico alums.
New Mexico has blazed a bold new path, showing what state-level leadership actually looks like. Emerge New Mexico alums have been a critical part of the coalition delivering progress for our communities — and we’re determined to build upon that momentum this year.
