This week, the fight against fascism and the struggle for a free America is playing out on the floor of the United States Senate.

The government is facing a funding deadline for the Department of Homeland Security, as well as the entire government. For months, we have watched as the Trump administration transformed DHS and ICE into a paramilitary force loyal only to the White House. We’ve seen them occupy Minneapolis, terrorize families, and commit acts of violence and even murder against peaceful, law-abiding Americans.

Now, the cowards, fascism apologists, and boot-lickers in the GOP are asking for more money to keep this machinery of oppression running.

This is the moment of truth for the Democratic Party, and especially for Chuck Schumer as the Democratic leader in the Senate.

Last night, they nearly came to a deal... until Lindsey Graham through a hissy fit and blew it all up.

We are calling on every single person reading this to pick up the phone right now. Call Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. Call your Senators. Tell them that a clean funding bill is a surrender and capitulation to the authoritarians who have captured control of our government. Tell them to STAND STRONG.

The demand is simple: Vote NO on DHS funding unless there are actual, meaningful, SERIOUS repercussions and reforms for ICE. We cannot continue to fund a fascist regime that uses our tax dollars to hunt our neighbors. If Democrats aren't willing to use the power of the purse to stop the violence in our streets, then they are not an opposition party—they are an audience to the end of our republic.

This is the bare minimum requirement of fighting back. There can be no more business as usual while our fellow citizens are being snatched from their cars.
