As the Lowcountry prepares for snowfall this weekend, we want to ensure residents across South Carolina's 1st Congressional District have the resources and information they need to stay safe.
Significant snowfall is projected across the district this weekend. Our office is in close contact with Emergency Managers, County Administrators, and local officials to monitor conditions and ensure communities remain safe and prepared.
What we’re expecting as of right now:
- Charleston County: Approximately 2 inches of snow, with the Awendaw-McClellanville area potentially seeing closer to 3 inches
- Dorchester and Berkeley Counties: 4-6 inches of accumulation based on current forecasts from Emergency Management officials
- Beaufort County: Current forecasts call for 1 to 2 inches of snow for the Hilton Head and Beaufort areas
- Timing: Snowfall expected to begin Saturday morning and continue into early Sunday
We're urging residents to prepare now: stock up on groceries and essential supplies, fill up your gas tank, charge electronic devices, and make sure you have any necessary medications. Once the storm begins, please stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary and follow all local emergency management guidance.
