What we’re up against is dangerous. Disinformation spreads in hours. Journalists are being intimidated. Local newsrooms are shutting down, leaving communities without access to real reporting.

Courier

John,

We want to be direct with you about where things stand — and how this email is more urgent than a lot of the political emails filling your inbox right now.

Unlike campaign emails asking you to donate to elections months or years away, this is about doing something right now.

It’s about funding reporting at a moment when local journalism is exposing ICE abuses, when civil disobedience and protest are under attack, and when free speech and independent reporting are some of the only tools people have to fight back.

Please donate before our January deadline and support courageous journalism.

Since our last email, supporters have stepped up and helped us make real progress. We’re grateful for that momentum. But with less than 48 hours left in our end-of-month push, COURIER is still several thousand dollars short of our goal.

What we’re up against is dangerous. We’ve seen it in Minneapolis and in communities across the country. Right-wing disinformation spreads in minutes. Journalists are being intimidated.

And what’s left to fill the gap are courageous independent news organizations like COURIER.

Because of grassroots support, our teams have been able to push back against MAGA disinformation, expose ICE abuses, and reach millions with fact-based reporting when others stay silent or fall in line.

But continuing that work depends on resources — and what we raise in the next two days will determine how much reporting we’re able to do in the weeks ahead.

So we’re asking plainly:

Can you chip in $27 today to help us close the gap and stay on track?

Chip in $27

Or give any amount

Every contribution helps determine whether COURIER can keep showing up at full strength at a critical moment.

In solidarity,
COURIER Newsroom
