Hi there, Michigan Governor and DGA Vice Chair Gretchen Whitmer here. Tomorrow is the first End-of-Month deadline of 2026, and I just got off the phone with the DGA team. They said we’re still short on the key data we need to shape our strategy for this year’s 36 governors’ races, so I’m reaching out today with a special request for you.

Will you confirm your party status for me?

Last year’s victories in New Jersey and Virginia were our biggest sign yet that we can win big this year, but the other side knows that too. National Republicans will pour everything they have into trying to stop us – and their leadership is bragging that they have almost $100 million at their disposal to do it.

I know the stakes are high. But I also know firsthand how powerful this team is when we’re all in.

With 36 governors’ races on the ballot this November, the entire country will be watching battlegrounds like Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and more. And as DGA Vice Chair, I’ve been tasked with getting input from grassroots Dems on the ground – including you – to help our team know who’s on our side as we kick off a crucial election year. ​​So please: will you confirm your party status for me ASAP? I’ve set a goal of 15,000 responses, and I hope yours will be one of them.
