With her first year in the United States Senate complete, Angela Alsobrooks is preparing for an even more productive second year.   

She spoke to the Washington Post about finding her place as a legislator, building relationships with fellow Senators, and learning how to get things done in spite of extreme partisan gridlock.  

In 2025, she worked with colleagues across the aisle to invest in early detection and treatment of uterine fibroids, increasing tax credits for beauty industry businesses, and giving homeless youth access to more services.

She also exposed RFK Jr.'s lies in Senate hearings and hasn't stopped holding his feet to the fire.

Unlike most Senators with net worths in the multi-millions, Angela deals with the same challenges so many Marylanders face. Her dad’s medication recently spiked to $800 a month. She hears similar stories every week while she shops at the Wegmans – stories that fuel her efforts in the Senate.  

In 2026, Angela wants working families to be able to do more than just pay the bills: buy homes, save for retirement, and build wealth for the future.  

Go further and do better. That's her mission every day, from now until 2030, and beyond.
