John,

Take Down Tobacco National Day of Action culminates on April 1, but the movement is already underway! During the 100 days leading up it, youth advocates are coming together at events across the U.S. to stand up to Big Tobacco, expose the tricks they use to lure kids, and call for change.

Event registration is now open, and it's go-time!

TWO WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

1. Host an event: Plan an activity to raise awareness, encourage youth to reject tobacco, and urge elected officials to take action to protect kids. [link removed]

2. Share your reason: Tell the world why you #TakeDownTobacco, and we’ll amplify your message: [link removed]

WEBINAR

Join us virtually this Wednesday, February 4, at 6:30 p.m. Eastern. During this one-hour webinar, we'll discuss event ideas and answer any questions you have.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Tobacco companies are aggressively marketing deadly and addictive products while raking in billions of dollars in profits. They’re fighting policies that would actually reduce tobacco use. They’re developing new products to hook kids, using fun flavors and massive doses of nicotine. They’re lying, cheating, and fooling people into a lifetime of addiction, disease, and death. But we’re not fooled. And we can stop them.

START TODAY

Actions can happen anytime and can look like:

* Tabling at your school or in your community.
* Writing or calling your elected officials.
* Meeting with friends or classmates to speak out.
* Hosting a rally, training, or creative action.

Even informal or solo actions count. And when you share your action, you’ll:

* Be included on our national action map.
* Get access to tools and resources.
* Help show decision-makers and the media the growing momentum to take down Big Tobacco!

It only takes a minute to register your event, and you don’t need all the details figured out; you can always update your plan.

We'll use our platforms to spotlight groups and individuals that are making an impact in the days and months ahead – because real change always starts the same way: with someone willing to speak up.

Together, our voices are stronger. Thank you for helping take down Big Tobacco!

Looking forward,

Gustavo Torrez
Director of Youth Advocacy
