John,

We just launched something new at Ground Game Texas — and we want you to hear about it first.

Meet Sarina Gharbi, our new Digital Fellow.

Sarina is researching, testing, and breaking down one big question so many of us are asking right now:

How do we stay digitally well in a world where tech oligarchs profit off our data, our habits, and our attention?

From Google Gemini to Meta and beyond, our personal information is being tracked, harvested, and monetized — often without our real consent or understanding. And the truth is, most people aren’t given practical tools to push back.

That’s what Sarina is changing.

She’s launching a new video series across our social media that:

  • Explains how data collection actually works (in plain language)
  • Shows simple steps to protect your privacy online
  • Helps people think about their digital lives the same way we think about physical privacy

We’re calling it a Digital Privacy Wellness Journey — small, doable changes that add up to real protection.

This work matters because digital surveillance doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It fuels:

  • Over-policing and criminalization
  • Corporate and government monitoring of everyday people
  • The erosion of basic freedoms, especially for working-class communities

And it’s happening faster than most people realize.

If we want Texans to be informed, protected, and empowered — not just online, but in real life — we have to invest in education and organizing that meets people where they are.

That’s why we are asking: will you chip in today to support this work?

Your contribution helps us:

  • Fund Sarina’s research and educational content
  • Produce accessible, shareable videos anyone can use
  • Build long-term digital resilience alongside our organizing work
Donate Today!

This is about more than tech settings. It’s about autonomy, dignity, and the right to live without constant surveillance.

Follow us, share the videos, and if you can — help fund the work that makes them possible.

In solidarity,

Ground Game Texas Team

P.S. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by privacy settings, algorithms, or data tracking — this series is for you. Your support helps make sure it stays free and accessible to everyone.

Monthly contributions help us sustain this work without interruption.
