Good morning!

I hope you and your families have continued to stay warm as we reach what seems to be the tail end of this extreme sub-zero cold snap. I am hopeful that the more moderate temperatures will endure as we look forward to February, and eventually spring! As always, thank you for taking the time to engage and read my newsletters.

ICE Cooperation is the Way Forward

Since "Operation Metro Surge" began in early December 2025, ICE agents have faced a lot of opposition and hatred. Much of this has been stirred up by Governor Walz and Mayor Frey, who have continued to *turn up the heat* at a time when professional agitators are out to disrupt and obstruct ICE.

What we really need are level-headed leaders to tone down the rhetoric and encourage compliance with federal immigration enforcement operations, which Walz and Frey have actively worked against. 

Thankfully, President Trump took the first step this week by initiating personal conversations with both Walz and Frey, and bringing Tom Homan to MN in order to oversee the immigration operations. Mr. Homan has had a successful career with ICE, under the Obama, Biden, and Trump administrations [ [link removed] ] alike.

This is certainly a step in the right direction, and the bottom line remains the same. Illegal immigrants in our cities, state, and country, must be deported in order to restore order and safety here. Crime rates have spiked since Biden's open border policy [ [link removed] ] allowed millions of undocumented immigrants into our country.

Cooperation between local, state, and federal officials is imperative for the success of this operation. I am encouraged by Walz's alleged cooperation, especially regarding detainers, and it seems like things are starting to settle down. Federal immigration enforcement operations are necessary for the strength and security of our country, and I look forward to the progress continuing. 

National School Choice Week

This week marks National School Choice Week, a reminder that parents, not government systems, should have the final say in their children’s education. Every student learns differently, and families deserve access to options that best meet their needs, whether that is public, charter, private, homeschool, or online learning. Expanding school choice empowers parents, encourages innovation, and creates better outcomes by allowing schools to compete and improve. Supporting school choice means putting students first and trusting families to make the decisions that are right for them.

Remembering the Holocaust

National Holocaust Remembrance Day, this week, was a time to pause and remember the six million Jewish people and millions of others who were murdered during one of history’s darkest chapters. It was a solemn reminder of the consequences of hatred, antisemitism, and indifference, and why truth and historical memory matter. We honor the victims by remembering their lives, listening to the stories of survivors, and committing ourselves to stand against hatred and persecution in all forms. Remembering the Holocaust is not just about the past. It is about ensuring future generations understand the responsibility we all share to defend human dignity and never allow such atrocities to happen again.

March for Life

I have always supported life, especially the unborn who are unable to defend themselves and depend entirely on others for protection. While I was unable to attend the March in St. Paul due to prior in-district commitments, my support for the cause remains strong. I stood with the Minnesotans who gathered to advocate for the dignity and value of every human life and to make their voices heard at the Capitol. I am thankful for those who took the time to participate, engage respectfully, and remind policymakers that protecting life remains a priority for families across our state.
