This past month, America saw what competent leadership looks like.
President Trump authorized a precise operation that led to the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro. The mission was clear. The execution was disciplined. And American lives were protected.
That outcome stands in stark contrast to what we lived through just a few years ago.
Under Joe Biden, the United States withdrew from Afghanistan in chaos. Thirteen American servicemembers were killed at Abbey Gate. Our allies were abandoned. And the Taliban was handed control of the country, along with billions of dollars in U.S. military equipment.
I don’t talk about that lightly.
I spent more than a decade in uniform. I served in Army Special Operations and deployed to Afghanistan. In 2012, I was medically retired after stepping on an IED while trying to save a teammate. I know the cost of failure and the responsibility leaders carry when lives are on the line.
That’s why I don’t confuse rhetoric with results.
Operation Absolute Resolve wasn’t loud or reckless. It was deliberate. It was disciplined. And it worked.
As Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I’ve been focused on restoring American strength after years of drift and damage. With President Trump back in office, we’re finally moving in the right direction again.
But maintaining that momentum takes resolve, and support.
We’re approaching an important fundraising deadline, and I’m asking you to help us stay strong heading into the election year ahead.
