Liz Willen Dear reader,
By now, youâve probably heard of the new âlearning podsâ ([link removed]) that parents are setting up around the country as they scramble for alternatives or supplements to schools that may not safely reopen their doors this fall. But while these pods are often limited to the wealthy, all kinds of families are desperate for schooling options amidst worsening coronavirus outbreaks. Our reporting from Austin, Texas, shows the lengths that parents are going to find solutions as they feel abandoned by federal, state and school district officials.
We are also keeping track of disparities in digital learning and who was left behind, ([link removed]) and how some school districts â even those right next door to one another â are coming up with completely different ([link removed]) reopening plans. All of the uncertainties ahead are driving big questions for public education going forward. We are eager to hear yours.
