More than 1 million acres of public lands could be auctioned off for the profits of a few.
John,
President Donald Trump is unleashing yet another attack on our public lands. Targeting California, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management is threatening to open more than 1 million acres of public lands and mineral rights to polluting oil and gas corporations.
These lands are sites of human wonder and refuges for beautiful wildlife — not sacrifice zones for Trump’s oil and gas cronies to frack, drill, and pollute.
The agency is proposing drilling near important wildlife preserves and popular recreational sites. The resulting destruction would threaten some of our country’s most beautiful wild places and the imperiled wildlife who live there, including San Joaquin kit foxes, burrowing owls, monarch butterflies, and California condors. It would also harm the climate, clean air, and safe water.
