“Someone should kill that b**ch.” That’s what the attacker at Tuesday’s town hall said about Ilhan, according to an FBI witness.

The attacker’s facebook page showed a sad story of radicalization and hatred at the hands of Trump, MAGA, and the far-right’s rhetoric. It's a story we’ve seen time and time again since Trump first came to power in 2016.

Friend — It cannot be clearer that Trump’s constant attacks lead to devastating consequences.

From the deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, to the January 6th insurrection, to the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband, to ICE’s violent occupation of Minnesota, Trump and the Republican Party have openly stoked political violence and refused to back down from racist, hate-filled rhetoric.

Immigrants, from Somali-Americans, to Haitians, to Venezuelans and more have been scapegoated to create outrage. States and cities have been targeted by the White House’s thugs based on who they voted for. Conspiracy theories have been embraced at the highest levels of government.

It’s no mistake that Ilhan receives more death threats and racist attacks than any other member of Congress. MAGA leaders like Trump and JD Vance know they are directing violence her way, and they don’t care. Just look at how Trump rushed to make the absurd and disgusting claim that Ilhan staged Tuesday’s attack herself.

Friend, we are witnessing the dangerous result of handing power over to a President and a party with no morals, no ethics, no honesty, and a willingness to use violence as a tool of political repression. We must do everything we can to fight back, and in November, kick as many Republicans out of office as possible so we can start to undo the damage.
