The escalating violence of ICE agents in Minneapolis and the murder of Alex Pretti just weeks after Renée Good is a moral and constitutional reckoning for our nation.

These aren’t isolated incidents, John — it is a reflection of the fascist and authoritarian Trump regime. We have the power to stop this, and we must exercise every tool at our disposal to stand up for our communities, our rights, and our democracy. 

What has given me hope over the last few days is how our communities have stood up to reject this violent, fascist administration. I joined protesters in Melrose on Sunday, and it was clear: people don’t believe this is the way to keep our communities safe.
