John,
Our Youth Lobby Day is quickly approaching and we are excited to announce that attendance for this event is estimated to triple from last year. On February 4th, we will be hosting 300 youth from across Washington to gather in Olympia for our annual Lobby Day. We are thrilled by the overwhelming response of this event from youth advocates eager to learn about the legislative process, passionate about sharing their perspectives, and excited to meet with their elected officials. It's been incredible to see.
But we need your help to make it happen.
As registrations continued to pour in, we were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of Washington’s youth but this also means that our event costs have exceeded our original budget. We're now facing a funding gap of $11,500, which could impact our ability to provide transportation, meals, and materials for our young advocates.
We will not let budget constraints silence 300 youth voices on this important day!
These young people have been preparing to speak with their legislators to have their voices heard on bills surrounding gun violence prevention, mental health support, and civic engagement in our communities. Many have never been to the Capitol before making this day a defining moment in their civic journey.
Will you help us close the $11,500 gap in event funding with a gift of $50?
Every donation, whether $50, $100, $250 or more, directly supports:
- Transportation costs to get youth safely to and from Olympia
- Food and drinks throughout the day
- Training materials and advocacy resources
- Event logistics and chaperone training
We have just 6 days to raise these critical funds. Your gift today ensures that every registered young person can participate fully in this transformative experience.

Thank you for investing in youth civic engagement and ensuring that young voices are heard in our state Capitol.
With gratitude,
Chetan Soni, Executive Director
P.S. Can't donate right now? Please share our message with others who might be able to support WYA’s young advocates. Every bit helps!
