Friend, Trump's hypocrisy is on full display right now.

In the wake of the second fatal ICE shooting in just one month, communities in Minnesota and across the country are protesting ICE’s escalating aggression toward immigrants – including U.S. citizens.

These folks are standing up for their neighbors and demanding real accountability for these federal agents. They're defending our democracy and giving a voice to people who are scared, grieving, and hurting. 

But Trump is stoking the fire by suggesting these people are "paid agitators" with no legitimate reason to speak out. Trump wants you to believe this is an attack on America. It isn’t. I know, because I’ve survived a real one.

On January 6th, 2021, I was on the House floor when a mob of insurrectionists forced their way into the Capitol attempting to stop the certification of a legitimate election.

Doors were broken down. Glass was shattered, violent attacks were made on law enforcement, and the world watched in disbelief as the Capitol was under siege. And for those of us who were inside, we were telling our families that we loved them – because we didn't know what was going to happen next.

That was an attack on our democracy.

And what did Trump do about it? He pardoned every single one of those insurrectionists who attacked our Capitol that day. But peaceful protestors standing up against aggressive tactics that are terrorizing communities? He says they're a danger to society.

I stand with the communities demanding accountability. And I refuse to let Trump and Republicans rewrite reality.

This moment demands leadership with moral clarity. And that's why I'm running to return to Congress: to help take back the House and be a sorely needed check on this president. 

If you believe in defending our democracy, protecting our communities, and holding Trump accountable for his words and actions, I'm asking you to chip in today. Help me get to Congress so I can fight back against lies, the abuse of power, and the dangerous double standard Trump is pushing.
